House on stilts/Sleeps 2

This little dream house on stilts has everything. Your kitchen is furnished with a gas stove and oven, propane-powered refrigerator, cooking utensils, lovely dishes and lots of counter space and storage. The dining area overlooks the lake. Savor your morning coffee as you watch the sky change colors before the sunrise. If you want a clearer view of the kingfishers, eat outside on the deck. Grill fresh vegetables for lunch and watch the kingfishers expertly catch their next meal while you enjoy yours. Eat by candlelight as you watch the moon rise across the lake and send its shimmering moonbeams over the water directly to you. It doesn’t get any better.

Relax in a hammock and read a book. Sun in the lounge chairs. Go for a swim. Fix your favorite lunch and paddle around Goat Island or up the Jungle River. Dine out in the elegance of nature. You won’t be disappointed. Paddle across the lake to the wild side and watch tapirs graze belly-deep in blue water.

In the bathroom, you will enjoy a hot shower in the roomy, tiled shower stall, a ‘reading light’ over the modern flush-type toilet and plenty of storage space. Your full-sized bed is clothed with quality sheets, covered by a cheery comforter for those cool nights and topped with a generous number of pillows. A reading light is provided over the bed for that page-turner that will keep you up all night. A desk, bookcase and dresser complete the furnishings.

Two 12-volt receptacles, located conveniently near the bed and desk, are provided for your laptop and CD player. Cigarette lighter adaptors or a small inverter are necessary to run your electronic devices. Note: solar power cannot be used efficiently to recharge batteries so bring extra batteries for your camera.

Standing at the water’s edge and rising into the air, Manatee-in-the-Moon’s wrap-around deck affords a bird’s eye view of the jungle. A tree-lined boardwalk provides access to the dock below for a swim in crystal waters. Privacy is yours at Manatee-in-the-Moon. Clothing is optional.

Toucans and agoutis, orchids and bromeliads, tropical breezes and warm waters are the essence of this beautiful place. The Lake of Seven Colors provides serenity and Manatee-in-the-Moon provides the perfect place to enjoy it. Come and soak up the spirit.
